Author Guidelines

The Perspectivas Technical-Scientific Journal invites national and international researchers, faculty members, professionals, and graduate students to submit original contributions related to the journal's thematic areas. Manuscripts must comply with the journal's focus, thematic scope, and accepted contribution types. For further information, please consult the Focus and Scope section.

Manuscript Preparation

Authors must prepare their manuscripts using the official templates provided by the journal, available in editable Microsoft Word y LaTeX.

Before submitting their manuscript, authors must verify that the manuscript:

  • presents an original and relevant contribution;
  • corresponds to the journal's focus and thematic scope;
  • complies with the structure and requirements established in the corresponding template;
  • presents objectives, methodology, results, and conclusions clearly and coherently, when applicable;
  • uses relevant and appropriately cited bibliographic references;
  • complies with the principles of research ethics and integrity;
  • has not been previously published and is not simultaneously under consideration by another journal.

The journal may conduct a similarity assessment of the manuscript as part of the preliminary editorial evaluation, in accordance with its Ethics and Publication Policy.

Submission Preparation Checklist

Before completing the submission, authors must verify that:

  • The manuscript corresponds to the journal's focus and thematic scope.
  • The manuscript corresponds to one of the accepted contribution types.
  • The official journal template has been used.
  • Both the identified and anonymized versions of the manuscript have been prepared.
  • The editable file has been included in the submission.
  • All authors have approved the manuscript and its submission.
  • The manuscript is not simultaneously under consideration by another journal.
  • The necessary permissions for third-party materials have been obtained.
  • Conflicts of interest have been declared, when applicable.
  • The ethical requirements applicable to the research have been fulfilled.
  • The use of Generative Artificial Intelligence tools has been disclosed, when applicable.
  • The declarations and documents required by the journal have been included.

Scientific article

A scientific article is a peer-reviewed contribution that presents original results from scientific research, based on a clearly defined methodology and aimed at generating, expanding, validating, or discussing scientific knowledge in a specific field.

Technical and application article

A technical and application article is a peer-reviewed contribution that presents the design, development, implementation, application, evaluation, or validation of a solution, methodology, system, process, or technology relevant to the journal’s subject areas. This type of contribution focuses primarily on the technical and technological knowledge derived from the application of engineering methods and on the evidence obtained through testing, experimentation, or validation.

Authors retain the copyright to their works. Publication in Revista Perspectivas does not imply the transfer of copyright to the journal or to the Escuela Superior Politécnica de Chimborazo.

Published articles are distributed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) license. This license permits the copying, distribution, public communication, adaptation, and reuse of the content, including for commercial purposes, provided that appropriate attribution is given.

Authors grant Revista Perspectivas the non-exclusive right of first publication for accepted works. This grant does not constitute a transfer of copyright and allows authors to subsequently share, deposit, and reuse their works in accordance with the terms of the applicable license.
