Focus and Coverage
The Perspectivas Journal of the Escuela Superior Politécnica de Chimborazo aims to:
- Provide a scientific dissemination platform for the publication of research results and technological developments in various areas of engineering, computer science, electronics, telecommunications, graphic design, and related fields, through an open-access and non-profit platform.
The Perspectivas Journal is primarily aimed at academics, researchers, and professionals interested in the journal's thematic areas, both nationally and internationally. Its purpose is to contribute to the strengthening and development of scientific and technological research in Ecuador and Latin America through the dissemination of original scientific and technical articles.
The journal's primary focus is the dissemination of original scientific research and engineering applications related to the following thematic areas:
- Electrical Engineering, Electronics, and Telecommunications: includes electromagnetism and applied optics, networks and data communication, electronic systems, digital systems, telecommunications, and information and communication technologies (ICT).
- Automation, Software, and Intelligent Systems: includes automation and control, educational computing, software and applications, artificial intelligence, and automotive systems.
- Energy, Sustainability, and Industrial Management: includes renewable energy and energy efficiency, thermodynamics and fluid mechanics, industrial maintenance management, industrial production, and manufacturing.
- Design, Innovation, and Heritage: includes graphic design, creativity applied to engineering, culture, technological heritage, and sustainable development.
- Materials, Mechanical Engineering, and Manufacturing Processes: includes materials, mechanical design, and advanced manufacturing.
- Mathematics, Statistics, and Applied Sciences: includes mathematics and statistics applied to engineering, physics applied to engineering, industrial safety, and ergonomics.
The Perspectivas Technical-Scientific Journal exclusively accepts manuscripts that correspond to someone of the following categories:
- Scientific Article: An original contribution presenting results of scientific, theoretical, experimental, or applied research, supported by a clearly defined and reproducible methodology. The work should contribute to, expand, validate, or discuss relevant scientific knowledge within the journal's thematic areas. It should include an appropriate theoretical foundation, a description of the methodology, presentation and analysis of results, discussion of findings, and conclusions derived from the research.
- Technical and Application Article: A contribution presenting the design, development, implementation, application, evaluation, or validation of solutions, systems, processes, methodologies, or technologies of interest to the fields of engineering, computer science, electronics, and related areas. The work must demonstrate a technical or technological contribution through sufficient evidence, such as experimentation, simulation, testing, validation, performance comparison, or application in a real or controlled context.
Both categories are subject to the editorial evaluation and double-blind peer-review process, in accordance with the journal's peer-review policies. Classification as a Technical and Application Article does not imply a lower level of academic rigor than a Scientific Article. Both types must meet the quality, originality, relevance, methodological rigor, and contribution requirements established by the journal.
